This mixed use scheme looked to provide a range of uses on an 'island' site near the Ipswich docks. Comprising hotel, apartments, restaurants and retail the site had a number of constraints which helped inform the design. A Grade 1 Listed barn, ancient Jewish burial ground and 1930s brick arcade were all carefully integrated into the scheme whilst a 14 storey tower signified the contemporary interventions. I was involved throughout the planning application, producing models and drawings to inform the design process and support the eventual planning permission which was granted, although the scheme was never realised.
